Programme Overview

Q: How does the Audiobooks in a Card programme work?

  • We provide physical cards containing unique redemption codes for specific audiobooks
  • Cards A6 size with envelope
  • Optional payment terms are available for sellers preferring to be invoiced upon ordering or only invoiced when a card is sold 
  • Cards can be activated through your bookseller portal on Spiracle Audiobooks
  • Each card provides unique access to one audiobook through spiracleaudiobooks.com

Q: What's in the collection?

  • The “Launch” collection comprises 27 different audiobooks
    • 22 of these audiobooks are co-published with independent and small presses in the UK.
    • 2 are from Pushkin Press and 3 are from Naxos Audiobooks.
  • These are selected, original fiction and non-fiction by exceptional writers
  • There will be monthly additions to the catalogue
  • Cards feature the original book cover for easy recognition

Pricing & Financial Terms

Q: What is the pricing structure?

  • RRP: £14 (inc. VAT)
  • RRP net: £11.66
  • Wholesale price up to 60% discount

Q: What are the payment terms?

  • Optional payment terms to be agreed upon signing up as a stockist:
    • Invoice on Order (We send you an invoice when you order stock)
    • Invoice on Activation (No upfront cost for stocking cards; Monthly invoicing only for cards sold and activated)
    • Pay Now (Payment taken at till)
  • Terms for payment are 30 days on invoice.
  • Commission credited against monthly invoices

Q: How does the commission structure work?

  • 10% commission on all future purchases made by your audiobook in a card customers (and redeemers if different) on spiracleaudiobooks.com
  • Applies to all customer purchases, regardless of where they later buy cards
  • First bookshop where customer makes a purchase becomes their tagged bookshop
  • Commission applies to subscriptions and individual purchases

Ordering & Stock Management

Q: How do I order stock?

  • Order through www.audiobookinacard.com (login required for discount)
  • First orders limited to 30 cards per outlet (for Pay On Activation terms only)
  • Minimum order quantity: 5 cards
  • Restocking requests fulfilled within 3 working  days

Q: How do I manage my inventory?

  • Unsold cards remain the property of Spiracle Audiobooks Ltd
  • We may request return of unsold cards at your, the retailer’s, expense.
  • Returns must arrive in re-saleable condition
  • You the retailer, are responsible for safe storage and handling

Sales Process & Portal Usage

Q: How do I process sales?

  1. Log into your bookseller portal on the Spiracle Audiobooks site
  2. Activate cards at point of sale by entering the unique code
  3. Input customer's email address
  4. Complete the sale

Q: Why is the customer's email important?

  • Enables welcome email sending
  • Allows us to track customer association for commission
  • Facilitates future joint marketing opportunities

Q: What support is provided?

  • Local representatives make regular visits
  • Training videos available for purchasing and processing
  • Display options and recommendations provided
  • Dedicated support team for technical issues

Customer Experience

Q: What do customers need to use their audiobook?

  • A free Spiracle Audiobooks account
  • Internet access for initial download
  • The Spiracle Player App (iOS/Android) or web player
  • No subscription required

Q: What's the redemption period?

  • Customers have 12 months to redeem their Audiobook in a Card
  • After expiration, they can contact Spiracle support
  • Each code can only be used once
